Hello David,
Yes, App Builder does its job perfectly. If I can not find a valid solution, the one I (and the others) can use is copying the images prepared by App Builder and make them read only so Cordova won't replace them (but I will continue trying).
Wishing you a good evening David :)
Hello Boss ;)
There is my return (I really hope not to bother you because I am not clear at all on that point and you know more than me) :
I have updated to v2016.136I have noticed that 3 icons still were the ones from Cordova instead the ones App Builder createdSo I have tried to edit the App options \ Configuration \ Extra XML thinking it will copy the images instead of creating the Cordova's onesAfter compilation, the images were created but with another name
Images concerned
Code put into Extra XML
Images were copied but with a new name like, for example : "SplashScreen.scale-100.scale-100.png"
I will continue to try to find a solution this evening and will report if I can find one. Thanks for all the patient and helpful support you do provide David
Hello David,
After several trials, nothing to do (on my PC). If you would like to try my project
But please, only if you have some time (because it could be on my own PC, I am currently checking everything)
Hello David,
I do thank you for that new version but I still do have bad news about.
After having updated to version #2016.135, I did compile the Calculator's app as you did. What I have noticed is this :
the compilation failed because the image "Square310x310Logo.scale-100" had a weight over 204 Kb (we have already seen that previously)some new Cordova's icons were createdif I set a splash screen, it is lost and replaced by Cordova's own splash screen
Below is the content of the \Calc_Compiled\platforms\windows\images after compilation and creation of the new icons.
Please did you had such troubles on your part or, perhaps is it a faulty configuration on my PC ? Many thanks David
Hello David,
Thanks again for your reply : I finally got it by doing this :
reduced the weight of the images located inside \res\icons\windowsI had to reduce the size of the image 'StoreLogo.scale-100.png' to 50x50 (as the logs printed) and [ins]put that image as readonly[/ins] or it is resized while compiling
About the avatar, well... hu... you absolutely don't need it, Master ;)
Hello,
Please do you have some errors while compiling for Windows ?
I have created a sample app, installed Visual Studio and compiled.
The first attempt produced that log :
Summarized:
The following navigation rule had an invalid URI scheme and is ignoredWrong dimensions or weight too heavy for two images
So, I corrected what I could :
reduced the weight of 'images\Square310x310Logo.scale-100.png'reduced the size of 'images\StoreLogo.scale-100.png' to 50x50 pixels
I retried to compile again using the 'cordova_windows_run' batch file and got that log
Errors about the same images weight and sizes.
Please do you know how I could fix that ? Many thanks
+10101010 - Thanks a lot for your example, David :)
Hello David,
I feel bad to make you work a Saturday evening. So, I do thank you a lot for the information you kindly provided.
Hello David and the others,
This message is not urgent at all because I have no need for the moment. Could you please provide a "quick and dirty" example (or point me to an existing example) that shows how to use that action ?
I read that it is used in the app functions App Builder script to provide a JavaScript result when needed. But I can't understand how the return is done. In fact, if I am not wrong, App Builder's functions don't work as NB ones where the return variable can be set (or I have missed that and always use the same [returning] variable, clearing it at the start of the called function.
Many thanks
Again, it was that (I will have to return to read the Help file because I wouldn't have thought about that). BiG THANK YOU David
Hello Sir David,
Thanks a lot for all the bests efforts you provided to fix
Ok. Finally I found the problem and the cause of your "white screen" application. There is a bug in App Builder that, not only cause the app's Resume event never be executed, but also the "white screen" behaviour.
I do confirm it is working perfectly great now.
Probably the Min SDK (Cordova -> Android options) no need to be Android 6, but Android 4, for example.
You are absolutely right and I tried many configurations trying to find why the location wasn't got, that I probably missed that point for the example provided. Sorry.
Are you sure you need to specify the Java and other related paths?
You are right too : I put them while trying to identify why it was not working. Sorry again. I wasn't sure I was using the right Android SDK and Java version (thought to go to the 32 bits to have the same configuration you have).
Now the good news : I don't know if you have touched that point but the Location is acquired. In some cases it doesn't refresh Label1 (probably when the Timer is waiting or Ticking (I have to investigate)).
But it is working. Thanks again David
Another thing Samuel, can you provide me your app sample, so I can take a look and also try to build it here?
Sorry to spend your time (reason why I was trying to solve the issue by myself) but if you would like to
download the project
Because it's not possible app sample works if I build it and don't work if you build it, except if something in your environment is not completely correct
Hello David,
I do absolutely agree and that what I am trying to find.
Hi there (and especially Sir David),
Spent a lot of time debugging the issue : the behavior is not (and absolutely not, consistent). So, I am currently testing all what the Dialogs and controls do.
No reason not to be enthusiastic...
