Amin Mousavi (In thread: Push Notifications Android & IOS)
Hi David,

Thanks for the swift response as always and updating the sample, it builds flawlessly now. Yesterday I built and tested it on Android and today I built it for windows. Both build correctly but both read the response text in the Response text area as [object Object]. Should not be a big deal. Have to fix something urgent on our server. Will continue the work on the notifications this evening and will post my progress here.

As always thanks a mill for your GREAT support David!

Hi David,
I am working on adding notification to our app. PushPlugin sample however fails to build for android. I have read its documents and have proper IDs needed however I think the problem is sources elsewhere. Since this tread is aged, I was wondering, is this sample still functional? I have no issue in building other android projects with Cordova. For reference, error begins by "compileSdkVersion is not specified".

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks a mill

Amin Mousavi (In thread: Deploy our apps as web apps in a server)
Hi David,
That is what I thought! Thank you David. Just for reference for the others who may decide to do the same later. Make sure NOT to use debugger for building www for the server as "console.log" is on for that and it will give out all your code, variables etc.

I found this method the easiest way for pilot testing the apps specially for Apple users, rather than a test flight, a web link could take care of an initial test quickly and easily before we proceed to the final tests on their phones.
Thanks a mill for your confirmation, AB is indeed a great and powerful system and your support makes it EXCELLENT!

Amin Mousavi (In thread: Deploy our apps as web apps in a server)
Hi David,
I have made one of the apps I have built with AB available in my webpage. I built it for android and copied the www folder to my website, put the link in an iframe and it works like a delight. However I thought it is not what AB has been advertised for so I just wanted to double check that with you to see if you know any security problem or issues with what I have done, or you find it all fine.
Thanks

Thanks for the clarification David. Much appreciated!

Amin Mousavi (In thread: Vertical overflow for Dropdown control's lists)
Hi David,
Thanks a alot for your quick response. Have a question here, I tried the very same CSS but like below: and entered TestClass into dropdown classes, how come it does not work like that? Perhaps only dropdown's container takes the class like this?

Amin Mousavi (In thread: Vertical overflow for Dropdown control's lists)
Hi David,
Hope you are all good and have enjoyed the holidays :)
I have a dropdown with about 40 items in it, high number of items stretches the app too much down. I would like to be able to have the items scrolled, yet could not achieve it with, max-height , overflow it acts on the button alone. Also tried to put it in a container and control the container but still not success. Any suggestions? I have tried select, it is better but dropdowns look better in my app,
Thanks

You are a life saver David! I had tried all I could think of
Works like magic :-) Thanks a million and wish you a Merry Christmas!

Amin Mousavi (In thread: Change the language direction of the app)
Hi David,

I am trying to run a * selector on a condition in app builder but had no luck any ways I tried it. Any help is hugely appreciated. So below works fine when I copy it to inline CSS: But I want this to run only when the a specific RTL language is selected so I defined a class and used addclass like below and had no luck I also tried below and still no luck

SetStyle "body" "direction" "rtl"
Appreciate any help

Amin Mousavi (In thread: Best way to translate our apps, using arrays, etc.)
Hi David,

That is a very good example indeed. I am using this in report controls (like record.field) alot when dealing with JSON. Did not know that data can be read directly from HTTP Response like this. Great tip, thanks ;-)

Hi David,

You are right a flag would solve the unnecessary reloading, it was a dumb issue lol.
Keeping the files separated could save time as the app expands, sure! Will think more on how it suits this application, may define a few files instead!

Always enjoy discussing ideas with you David :-) thanks

Amin Mousavi (In thread: Best way to translate our apps, using arrays, etc.)
Hi David,
Thanks for the detailed answer, commenting in the txt/ini file will do the trick for me I think. Using a few text files and using [App.CurrentView] to switch between them actually crossed my mind. It is a great idea, since it only loads the variables needed to be loaded and you know every millisecond counts when there are alot to be handled! however I am a bit cautious on that since it means each time it is switched between views it reloads some variables versus taking a second at the start and forget about it as long as app is running. Also handling one text file for each language could be easier. All being said, I have put the content of some Html controls into variables, I think I record them separately and load them using [App.CurrentView].

Thanks a lot David, for the assistance and brilliant ideas as always :-)

Thanks alot David for your swift response and assistance as always. I will transfer my variables to a text file. I believe as you suggested that is the best way. My applications often grow to become very large so I need to investigate all the options along the way to keep them sleek and fast.

Just one last question David, is there anyway to leave a comment in the LoadVariable text file? I will need to record 200 to 300 variables there, having some note will help me keep track of the views they are used in.

Thanks a million.

Hi David,

Very very helpful as always, thanks, it will help a lot for the translation part indeed (I will go with your method). However, two questions still stand regardless. Is there a way to define arrays straight in the app builder? something similar to how LoadVariables work, to write an array of items separated by pipes for instance? I have tested pipes in app builder and it does not work, have tested comma before with no luck. For applications like mine that processes alot of data, being able to define many variable in an array comes very handy.

I use arraygetitem and arraysetitem already to access array items and a direct access (array[4]) would be very nice if available? or even something like this, to be able to use an action within the other: Thanks for your fantastic support!

Amin Mousavi (In thread: Best way to translate our apps, using arrays, etc.)
Hi David,

I am currently working on a multilingual app and the cleaner way to translate it would be including name of all the buttons and alerts in a array and read the relevant array member at the proper position. However in AB it requires a few more steps. So I handle this scenario like below right now: To simplify the process I was wondering is there any direct way to access an array member and to define it. Something like below: And then use the proper element at each control name, something like [names][0]

Thanks for your help as always
