I'm not very informed when it comes to creating VisualNeo plugins but I think some of the commercial ones are made by using Delphi components/libraries and including this functionality into VisualNeo.
If thats remotely accurate I dont' know why we cant have stuff like this: https://www.tmssoftware.com/site/gridpack.asp
That's an incredibly awesome grid component.
Or https://www.devart.com/sdac/
More in here: http://torry.net/pages.php?id=1513
or here: http://www.embarcadero.com/products/rad-studio/firedac
Tell me you wouldnt like to see something like that on VisualNeo?
And trust me a full replacement for dbPro would sell major time.
Already have it. Its good, but not good enough and buggy with fundamentally brutal (eg. row deleting) bugs. Its a liability that Dave refuses to address, no updates in a long while and forces developer to look for "workarounds", report designer is super out of touch, you cant even zoom in/out (really?)
I use it, on a daily basis, but its just so wide open to improvement... Major, improvement. I'll pay ten licences a year of anything that can replace it entirely... And Im dead serious.
Thats great, I just got your email...
I got a quick question... do you ever concider the posibility of building a plugin con comunicate with databases? I know theres a few going around but I think the NeoPlugin signature would be much appretiated, most of the actual ones are buggy or outdated or not supported since ages...
I'm just saying by the way... Anyway, thaks for the update and the new plugin.
Hi!
On Outlook when you get a few messages in a row the alerts stack on top of each other. Is there a way of achieving this same beheavior with npDesk?
Yeah, at least on my phone is putting everything on the TO field... that's fine though...
Hi
I tried to create a QR Code that has an email in it, as Mail, subject and Message but I havent been able to create one... Any tips on this matter?
Regards.
Hello Nelson,Don't worry. In fact we can use the npEncodeDateTime action to prepare certain value (a "Delphi" datetime string, stored in the result variable) in order to do later two possible things: just use the value like you do above, for example, to show the datetime in an alertbox, or, more commonly, to be use it with other plugin related actions, in order to compare dates, increment days, get number of between days, etc.
The npWeeksBetween action, for example, offer us a sample of the npEncodeDateTime use.
Yeah, I corrected my code and its working fine... I haven't use this function in a while but I think I remember it used to retrieve an integer... so I got confused but yeah, its working nicely as usual =)
Regards.
I thought the process to ENCODE a date would turn something like: 1987-03-29 into 2265123, you know like DateToNum sort of thing...
Maybe I'm wrong If that's the way its supposed to work that I just apologize... =)
Hi,
I'm trying to use some date/time capabilities of npUtil but I'm not getting good results and I just tested this:
And its giving me:
I think this is not the correct behavior, Am I right?
Regards.
Wow, thats pretty good, I was hoping to be able to use npXMLs since I dont actually have Rexp... I'm just having a terrible time trying to understand the way XMLs work, even with the samples...
Hi,
I got an HTML table that looks pretty much like this:
And I was wondering if there's a way of getting all the pcom and ocom data using npXMLs or if ots another way of doing this with VisualNeo or a NeoPlugin (?)
Regards.
I would like to share an interesting alternative: http://codecanyon.net/item/mydb-your-flatfile-database/11582645
A flat file database, very useful PHP class for storing data on a file.
Interesting... I was also running some tests and I decided that for now (and for my purposes) its better to wait for a first stable version hopefully looking at having integration with some sort of embedded databases system such as SQLite... :)
I'm definitely not in a hurry =)
Yeah, I believe it should be no problem, I'll try to check as soon as...

For those interested in trying to program for this platform I got some notes:
While using Visual Studio (2013) for developing apps you'll need to have Hyper-V activated to debug with the integrated emulator and for this to happen you'll need at least a Pro version of Windows. There's also a few additional requirements for running Hyper-V.
Once your hardware and software are sorted you'll need a Microsoft Developer Account for sending apps to your Phone and test them (obviously, also for submiting them to the Windows Store and sell them). The account is not free but there's BizSpark that allows you to free-ride pretty much every single Microsoft product available for the Ultimate subscription package of MSDN and you get a free year of Windows Developer Account. All of this free during 3 years.
The criteria for Bizspark:
If you are a software startup (not a consulting firm), less than 3 years, making less than 1M$ in annual revenues, you WILL be accepted. You can apply via Microsoft, or even better, via a network partner, like Bob, who can provide a lot of support and guidance on top of the core BizSpark offer. That said, in order to audit the applications, we ask for a corporate email that matches your domain name, a valid website and a solid Business description. People applying with emails like @live.com or @gmail.com are not accepted and you will all understand why.
So its a bit of a process but I got to say, its easy enough... :)
