DecSoft (In thread: Security policy meta tag in AB1)

Hello Amin,

My concern is that if you already try by editing the HTML directly, probably the other methods don't work... and why? Well, because the other methods try to avoid the directly editing of the HTML, but, finally what we get is some HTML...

Can I ask what is the exactly problem? Do you try to run the AB1 app inside an IFrame or something like that? And, if so (or in other case) do you get some error message or something like that? I know you mention above some "unsafe" postfix problem, but, I am not sure about what is this exactly.

Anyway, I hope you can get it working as expected!

Hello Amin,

I am not quite sure about the exactly problem that you have, however, trying to help you, what I can say for now is this: AB1 already establish a "Content-Security-Policy" in the "index.html" file of the app. We can change the value of that meta tag at runtime, for example, using the app Start event, with the below line of code:


$('[http-equiv="Content-Security-Policy"]').attr('content', 'My new value here');

If I choose the app Start event, is because it's the very first event fired in AB1 apps, however, I am not sure if establishing the value of that meta tag at runtime can works or not in your specific case. So another possibility is to change the value of that meta tag directly from the "index.html" file. You can do it manually (after compile the app) or using some kind of automation if you use some BAT file or program in the App options -> Build.

On the other hand, if what you want or need is to add new meta tags in the "index.html" file of the app, then you can use the App options -> HTML -> Custom metadata option, which allows us to place HTML stuff which will be placed in the "head" section of the "index.html" file of the app. I hope that this information can help you in some manner, Amin.

* Add the new TrayMenu, TrayIcon and TrayIcon2 sample apps. These apps shows how we can use the recently added Javascript external functions and events related with the app tray icon and the app tray icon menu. The product help has been also updated in order to incorporate these new stuff related with the app tray icon and the app tray icon menu.

* Add the new dhc.events.onTrayMenuItemClick() Javascript external function. This function / event is called when the user click on an item of the app tray icon menu and receives the item ID which has been clicked as an argument. Take a look at the product help and also at the TrayMenu sample app to see this function / event in action.

* Add the new dhc.events.onTrayIconClick() Javascript external function. This function / event is called when the user click on the app tray icon. Take a look at the product help and also at the TrayMenu, TrayIcon and TrayIcon2 sample apps to see this function / event in action, and, also to look at the related tray icon new external functions.

* Add the new dhc.trayMenu.hideIcon() Javascript external function. With this function we can hide the app tray icon if we previously show it by using the also new dhc.trayMenu.showIcon() Javascript external function. Take a look at the TrayIcon and TrayIcon2 sample apps to see this in action.

* Add the new dhc.trayMenu.showIcon() Javascript external function. This function can be called (at runtime) in order to show the app tray icon in the system tray. The behaviour of the dhc.window.setState() action has been changed in order to minimize the app into the system tray (hidden it from the task bar) if the tray icon is shown. This allows us, for example, to start the app running in the background / system tray. Take a look at the TrayIcon2 sample app to see this in action.

* Add the new dhc.trayMenu.updateItem() Javascript external function. This function works in a similar way than the already existing dhc.mainMenu.updateItem() and update an specific item of the app tray icon menu. Take a look at the product help and also at the TrayMenu sample app to see this new external function in action.

* Add the new dhc.trayMenu.setItems() Javascript external function. This function works in a similar way than the already existing dhc.mainMenu.setItems() and set the app tray icon menu items. * This release of the product incorporates an internal change which we already incorporates in our DecSoft App Builder product. What we do in this DecSoft HTML Compiler release is to save the app project files in a more smart way, that is, by including in the project file only the app options which has been certainly changed, or, in other words, by not saving on the project file the app options which are not changed, which have their default values. Doing this what we get are smaller project files, but, also smarter files, since do not include options values which are not completely required, since still with their default values.

Here is a new DecSoft HTML Compiler with the below changes, fixes and enhancements:


2022.14 (09/08/2022)

* Propertly identify the MIME type of Javascript files. Previous to this release, we are not perfectly indicated (internally) the MIME type of the Javascript files of our app. This do not cause any trouble, except if we load the Javascript file with an script tag with the type="module" attribute. In this specific case, the MIME type will be "prefectly indicated" or the Javascript file cannot be properly loaded.

* Avoid a problem which is caused if the CORS origin value of a Javascript file is "null", which is the default value for our Javascript files, since they are loaded using the "file" protocol instead of the HTTP(S) one. This release prepares the Edge Runtime WebView in order to allow that kind of CORS origin values, which means that some specific apps (like the Construct 3 software HTML5 exported games) work now as expected.

* Add the new Download publication sample, which show to us how we can use the new npOnEdgeDownload action / event in order to handle the file downloads, in this case by let the user to choose the target file path in which the file will be downloaded: if the user cancel the file save dialog, we also cancel the file download.
    
* Add the new npOnEdgeDownload action, which allows us to handle the file downloads from the specified browser object instance. With this action we can cancel a download, know the file path in which a file will be downloaded, and, also handle the download, for example, by changing the file path in which the file will be downloaded.
  
* Add the new npEdgeShowHtml action, which allows to set an arbitrary HTML string into the specified browser object instance. We can always navigate to a file path which contains certain HTML, however, with this action we can set certain HTML string directly, without save it firstly in a file.

* Make some changes in the Cordova config.xml file specifically for the Cordova Electron platform. Previously to this release we use a couple of platform=electron nodes in the Cordova config.xml file and this cause that the electron settings file are not taken and used as expected. We reported this issue to the Cordova Electron team, but, fix the problem by use only one node for the platform=electron platform. Make also a minor change / addition into the default / sample electron settings which we can set from the app Cordova Electron options, in order to hide by default the app window main menu.

* Add the new Notifications sample app, which allows us to see the latest system notification stuff working. Basically we can see how to show various notifications and to react when these notifications are clicked by the user. Add also in the product help the right documentation for this new notifications related stuff.

* Add the new dhc.events.onNotificationClick() event, which is fired when a system notification which we previoiusly shown has been clicked by the user. We can know what notification has been clicked because this event receive the name of the notification.

* Add the new dhc.system.notification() Javascript function, which allows us to show system notification to the user of our apps. We can establish the notification's name, title and body: in particular the name of the notification is important becuase we receive it in the new dhc.events.onNotificationClick()  event when the notification is clicked by the user.
