I am using html to display an image on my server in an app.

I want to make one of the folders in the image string a variable. what would be the best way to do that?

I would like to search and replace a /##Folder##/ variable in the html string, and then use a variable in the HTML property, but not sure how to do that. If I use the search and replace, where should the html text be that is processed?

That might be one way to do it, is there another way?

Can I do a search and replace on the HtmlContent2.HTML for example?

I have a lable that I want centered width wise on my screen even when the size changes. How can I set the label property to center that way? Or right justify for that matter?

Perhaps I am using the wrong control. I am using the image control, how can I make it so that the image does not lose its aspect but will fit into the box without distrortion. Also is a zoom feature available?

Added later....

Since compiling and installing the app I noticed that the pictures look ok. When just debugging the app in windows the size of the app changes and things look odd but when actually installed they look fine. Please ignore this question until I have done some more investigation on this with different size images,

I also noted that the zoom is part of the app itself rather than the images so there you go on that.

And one more thing while I am thinking about it. The .ap file is a text file and I was wondering if there is someway to view it as text and search it. I know I can do it as an extrernal editor but might be a nice feature for the app.

My thinking on this is that sometimes I need to find where something is like objects or variables and this helps me to locate them,

Any other ideas or ways to do this?

Is there a way to just download updated sample files without installing the AppBuilder?

I know sometimes there are new controls etc that need to be updated but if we are using already installed ones, and you make some changes is there a way to do it?

I think it would be useful as time changes things and samples get modified.......as you know.

Ok that makes sense but where do I change the string to show Imperial? I cannot find it anywhere.

One of the problems I have is that code can be in so many different places I cannot find them. Is there any place that all the code shows up? Or anyway to search for a string in the app like "openweathermap.org" ?

Is there a way to change the temp from Centegrade to Farenheit ? Are the factors setable like windspeed in mph?

I was wondering if there is any compatibility of other products with yours. To be specific, if someone created an app using another tool and that product was converted to an apk using Cardova, is there anyway your software could read their output before it was converted to apk?

I guess I'm thinking that if at some point Cardove is going to create the apk then maybe the input would be similar,

I know it is a real long shot but just curious.

If i wanted to create an estimating app, not a real complicaated one so that I need to tap into some server database somewhere, but rather a fairly small system with data that would be stored from a csv file or ??

The app would then use dropdown selectors to choose various data values from the list. Each selection then selecting other button info that is filtered by the last selection, Usually there would be from 3 to 5 selections to make to get to the right item you wanted. Once you go there it would then return to you the price and a few other pieces of data.

Now you would take those selected items and data and put them into a list of information that could be added up and other factors used to modifiy the numbers. All math functions.

Finally all this would be produced as a report that could me email or text to someone using the phone share features.

What would be the best tools to use to create such a thing here?

What would be the best sample to start with?

I feel that connecting to a mysql server would be my first choice but not sure nor do I have the knowledge set to do that.

I am open to ideas.

One more thing, So the SetAttribute tool applies to HTML attributes. And is not specific to just images but any html attribute to which it is referencing. I could then set the color of text with it if I was addressing a text object?

The SetAttribute dialog shows 3 inputs but when clicking the second one it does not give a drop down of choices so I am assuming any attribute could be changed if it applies to the object?

What say you?

Ok now it comes together better. Don't know why I didn't notice the tabs at the bottom but now I have learned again the hardway :-)

This sample has some special things going on that I am not used to, being a VisualNeo guy my thinking goes that way as you know. But your explanation makes sense now or at least as much as I can get. Thanks for the detailed explanations.
