Walter Hiller (In thread: Mediaplayer control in Chrome & Firefox)

Hello David,

this is what I mean. All Browsers support mp4, but if you only fill in a mp4 source in the Mediaplayer control it will not work under CHROME or Firefox. Just test it yourself.
Thanks in advance, Walter

Walter Hiller (In thread: Mediaplayer control in Chrome & Firefox)

Hello,
I´m wondering why the MediaPlayer control needs .ogv files for playing movies in Forefox or Chrome? Both browsers handle mp4 quite good. Is this a need of the java library? For me it is difficult, because I have to upload hundred of mp4- movies anyway and then I have to store same amount twice as .ogv. Not only a question of storage costs also a question of time and work. Thanks in advance for answer and advice.
kind regards,
Walter

Walter Hiller (In thread: MediaPlayer control - questions)

Hello David,
back again from a longer illness and holidays now I redesign some things in my WebApp. One of these things is the MediaPlayer. I cancel all Flashplayer activities and use your MediaPlayer again. And there I have still the question of hiding the native MediaPlayers controls for Play-Pause,Slider, Fullscreen etc. .
My idea is to activate the controls on design time, on run time controls should hide after i.e 3 seconds and be reactivated/shown again if needed > i.e. by setting a var like MediaPlayer1.controls=true/false. I also tried SetStyle "MediaPlayer1" "controls" "false" but was´nt successfull.

Thanks for your answer
Walter

Walter Hiller (In thread: variables set by external javascript - something wrong?)

Now everthing works again. Thank you!

Walter Hiller (In thread: variables set by external javascript - something wrong?)

Hello David,

I uninstalled and reinstalled AppBuilder from your website, but still have the same problem. The external function itself works fine because I get the control alert. In my script I watch the var movieend with a timer control every 500ms ...

Thanks for your help
Walter

Walter Hiller (In thread: variables set by external javascript - something wrong?)

Hello,
I check the position of a js videoplayer with this code in index.html:

But his doen´t work. Before the last changes of AppBuilder I used:

This worked fine. Did I missunderstand something?

Thanks,
Walter

Walter Hiller (In thread: Checkboxes in Google Chrome, Z-Index and no-cache meta tag)

One time again David - you´re the best :-) Thanks a lot,
Walter

Walter Hiller (In thread: Checkboxes in Google Chrome, Z-Index and no-cache meta tag)

Thanks David,
may be my problem is that I want to lay the checkbox over a picture? I use z-index to realise this. And as I wrote ... it works fine in IE and firefox, but nor in Chrome.

Thanks again,
Walter

Walter Hiller (In thread: Checkboxes in Google Chrome, Z-Index and no-cache meta tag)

Hello David,

I use a checkbox in my webapp for confirming the privacy statement and position it absolutely by using

This works fine with IE and firefox. Chrome always positions the checkbox in the bottom left corner. Any idea why?

Thanks for your help
Walter

PS: To my opinion it would bee nice to have a general app option for webapps not ot cache the content. No question to add these meta tags manually but you know we ´re getting older and forget :-).

Walter Hiller (In thread: KeyDown event? Checking user's inputs on keyboard (and mouse click))

Hello,

In certain circumstances I have to survey the inputs from the keyboard, means to check pressed keys. I realise this by adding the code

... into index.html. But until now I don´t find a way to implement this function directly in AppBuilder.

Thanks for your help
Walter

Walter Hiller (In thread: No more messages in Console)

Walter Hiller (In thread: load array with LoadVariables action ?)

Hello David,

I still have a lot of trouble with this stuff - depending on the browser I use and depending where files are hosted. I try to explain:

1. I always speek of a WebApp

2. With IE everything runs fine, local in AppBuilder Debugmode as well as online. Chrome and Firefox run fine local as well!

3. I still use LoadVariables to get some initial vars out of 2 INI files > no problem in IE and mostly in Chrome

4. If I change something in these files IE accepts it immediatly, Chrome and Firefox donn´t . although I pressed F5 different times and I empty the cache manually ...

5. I checked the ParseVars sample different times made some test in my app, also using HTTPexecute. BUT the thing is with HttpExecute action I stop the script, all script actions behind HttpExecute will not be executed.

6. So my question is, if there is a possibilty to start i.e a function "loadthis" in the show event of an view and WAIT for the end of the function before continuing the show event script. For example with a while which is waiting for a response var of the function

7. As far as I understand now the show event script of a view is first read totally and then executed?

8 And last but not least: Do different browsers handle the SetOption and GetOption different? Do they use different webspace? I wrote a own temporary log function which uses SetOption for the log entries. And get different resuklt using IE and/or Chrome/Firefox. confusing!

Thanks for your help

Walter

Walter Hiller (In thread: MediaPlayer control - questions)

Hello,

I just finish my work on my teaching app and now found some interesting questions related to the MediaPlayer control:

1. Is there a way to toggle the MediaPlayer.control from True/False. I tried to set the var MediaPlayer1.Control but no success.
2. Is there a way to block the right mouse click options on the player? Means show URL, download video etc. This si important to protetc movies ( just a bit) against simple downloading

Thanks in advance
Walter
